Michel de Martigny is an international executive with over 20 years experience in challenging overseas markets where he has successfully applied his marketing, management and legal skills to build channels, develop brands and grow their business while managing risk. He is expert at bridging the unique requirements of overseas markets and partners with the ambitious demands of western head offices.
For the first part of his career Michel worked in Canada with large multinationals managing sales channels, brand and retail advertising and B-2-C marketing for well known consumer brands including Gillette, Imperial Tobacco, J&J and Nabisco. He then obtained a law degree in international trade and spent five years practicing aviation law in Dubai. He was then enticed back to the business side where he headed the marketing for DaimlerChrysler in the Middle East, Turkey & Levant and at CA Technologies re-built the channel sales and partner programs for Western & Eastern Europe, Russia and Global Emerging Markets.
For the past two years, Michel has been COO of a software-as-a-service company offering secure communications and communications governance. He is also a Partner at Anthos International Strategy Advisors, working closely with senior executives who possess a strong desire to significantly grow their businesses from their current levels in terms of sales, profitability and value. Anthos combines a deep understanding of technology and technological trends with well-honed business acumen and marketing skills.
Michel’s vertical experience includes IT (CA Technologies, Evizone), Online Entertainment (Dao Games), Automotive Marketing (Chrysler & DaimlerChrysler), Legal (Aviation), Advertising (Y&R, Bozell) and B-2-C Marketing (Catelli, Smith & Nephew, Armstrong Industries). While at CA, Michel also developed and rolled out a Foreign Corrupt Practices Act compliance program for the Middle East, Eastern Europe and EMEA, and eventually all emerging markets.
Michel’s portfolio of skills and experience and deep understanding of the business, legal and cultural environments across many geographies and industries enable him to confidently take leadership of diverse assignments, identify and manage risk, develop effective go-to-market plans, secure the buy-in and compliance of the key stakeholders and partners, and deliver results.
A graduate of Concordia University and Osgoode Hall Law School, Michel is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and a Graduate of the Director Development program at the Institute of Directors / Mudara (endorsed by the World Bank).
